In the United States today, we are facing a crisis. According to the CDC (Center for Disease Control) 12.7 million children in the United States are obese. This 17% of children between the ages of 2-19 years old. 8.9% of children between 2-5 years old, 17.5% of children between the ages of 6-11, and 20.5% of children between 12-19 years old. This leads to health problems that include; childhood diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and even kinds of cancer. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is a daily challenge but it can make a difference in the quality of your life today and tomorrow. Part of the problem is that students and adults have not been properly educated to exercise regularly and eat healthy foods.
